Plant Filled (Covered!) Wedding Venues in the Vancouver area

If you know me or have ever taken a peek at my Instagram, you’ve probably clued in to my love for plants and all things green. This post is for my fellow nature lovers and pothos enthusiasts who may be looking for a wedding venue. We’re lucky to be surrounded by lush forests and stunning outdoor vistas in Vancouver, but we also know that rain is pretty much always a possibility. I’ve decided to feature a few indoor venues (or spaces that also include cover) that still inspire all of the trailing vine, greenhousey, lush botanical wedding vibes of your dreams.

Bloedel Conservatory

Queen Elizabeth Park, Vancouver BC

If you’d like to pretend you’re somewhere more tropical than Vancouver, definitely take a look at Bloedel Conservatory. It is home to exotic birds that fly freely, and 500 tropical plants.

Bloedel can hold anything from a small elopement to a 150 guest gathering, though I think smaller numbers work better in the space. On a nice day, the surrounding gardens of Queen Elizabeth Park and views of the city make for a wonderful photo backdrop.

Reflections at Rosewood Hotel Georgia

Vancouver, BC

Reflections is a tucked away patio space filled with plants and string lights. It feels like an oasis in the middle of bustling downtown, is filled with light, and has just enough covered areas that you and your guests are fine even if the skies open up. The tapas are also drool-worthy. Elopement packages up to 50 guests are available.

Loft Garden Oasis

Vancouver, BC

A truly intimate space, this living room loft will accommodate you two, your commissioner, and a photographer. This moody, dreamy space would make for a great elopement location, or book it as your portrait location in the rainy season for a cozy mid-day break with a glass of champagne.

Hycroft Manor

Vancouver, BC

For a glamorous heritage space filled with beautiful architecture, Hycroft is the one. The covered terrace brings the outdoors in, and makes a gorgeous spot for an intimate ceremony or long table dining. The ivy covered walls are a stunning backdrop for photos, and change colours beautifully with the seasons. The various spaces can accommodate up to 130 guests.

Venture a little further…

If you’re willing to look beyond Vancouver, you can find some hidden gems.

The Greenhouse

Abbotsford, BC

Because who wouldn’t want to get married in a greenhouse? The Greenhouse is a new venue in 2021 that is a dream for intimate weddings and elopements. Take at look at their Instagram to see how they have styled the space for wedding ceremonies or beautiful long table dining. The space can accommodate 16 dining guests, or 24 guests for a cocktail hour or ceremony. Bring a food truck on-site, and it’s a party!

The Secret Garden at Woodbridge Ponds

Abbotsford, BC

For a larger gathering, this property has it all. Beautiful grounds, a clear covered reception space filled with tropical trees and plants, and the option to move an outdoor ceremony under cover if rain is in the forecast. Up to 140 guests can be accommodated.
